Our Metal Business Signs are crafted from 14 gauge steel, which offers more rigidity than thinner 16 gauge or 18 gauge metal that you standardly see. This particular gauge ensures robustness while keeping weight to a minimum, making our signs lightweight and easy to hang on almost any surface without compromising on quality. But we don't stop there.

Not all 14 gauge steel is created the same!

We use premium, 14 gauge cold-rolled American-made steel to manufacture our signs, unlike recycled 14 gauge steel. Cold-rolled steel is of superior quality and provides a much stronger sign with a noticeably smoother surface finish. Signs made from cold-rolled steel usually have a smooth and shiny surface that is free of rust and scale. Most other makers use highly recyclable 14 gauge hot rolled steel. Hot Rolled steel has a fish scale appearance and is more Over time, rust and oils will start to show from underneath the paint of recycled material, but not with cold-rolled steel.

Each sign is uniquely designed, and we manually clean up each cut to ensure smooth and flowing lines with varying depths of wider areas back to thinner for a better cosmetic cut. We then use a high-end fiber laser to cut each design and professionally powder-coat it in an industrial oven. We electrostatically powder-coat it with the highest grade of industrial UV powder coat to protect it from the toughest elements. Powder coating typically lasts six times longer than spray paint and is highly resistant to scratching, chipping, and marking. Powder coating is used for things such as outdoor furniture, automobile parts, tire rims, bicycles, and appliances.

• ALL UNFINISHED STEEL SIGNS (both with and without a clear coat) may show flaws and imperfections that exist in the metal. This may include scratches, flecks, gouges, burns, rings, dark spots, etc. This can give the metal a unique, rustic, or rugged appearance that is very trendy in the “Modern Farmhouse Décor”. If you would like these characteristics covered, we recommend selecting a colored powder coat finish. Raw Steel also varies in color from light silver to black depending on the mill lot. We have no control over the color of raw metal.

• CANDY AND TRANSPARENT COLORS are fully transparent. Any flaws that exist in the metal underneath the color will show through the color and be visible. This includes scratches, blemishes, cut marks, burns from the cutting process, etc.
