What is a Illuminated Metal Sign?

An illuminated metal sign combines custom metal lettering, a logo, or a fabricated sign face with integrated LED lighting to create a dimensional display that remains visible at night. Depending on the design, the light can glow from behind the sign, around the edges, or through selected areas of the logo. This type works well for storefronts, reception walls, offices, and exterior branding, but the project should account for power location, wall clearance, wiring access, mounting surface, desired brightness, and whether local electrical or sign permits apply.

Construction & Features

Front + Halo Illumination

The face of each letter lights toward the viewer for strong readability, while rear lighting washes the mounting surface with a halo for added depth at night.

Aluminum Letter Bodies

Structural aluminum is used for the dimensional letter components because it provides strength without unnecessary weight and is well suited to commercial sign fabrication.

Commercial Acrylic Faces

Acrylic faces provide the illuminated front surface and can be planned around your logo colors and branding requirements during project review.

Custom, Not One-Size-Fits-All

Letter height, overall width, logo proportions and mounting layout are determined from your artwork, available facade space and viewing conditions.

Vector files such as AI, SVG, EPS or PDF are preferred. High-resolution PNG or JPG files are also accepted for review.

2. Available sign area

Provide the approximate maximum width and height available on the storefront, wall or mounting area.

3. Installation surface

Tell us whether the sign will mount to brick, block, metal panel, stucco, wood, an interior wall or another surface.

4. Installation location

Provide the project address or ZIP code so shipping and project requirements can be considered.

5. Mounting preference

If you already know you need raceway, direct, flush or standoff mounting, include that with your request.

6. Deadline or opening date

Tell us when the sign needs to arrive or be installed so timing can be reviewed before you order.

7. Landlord or permit criteria

Upload any sign criteria, approved dimensions, color rules or permit documents you already have.

Mounting & Installation

Raceway Mounting

The letters attach to a metal raceway that can house wiring and power components. A raceway can reduce the number of individual wall penetrations and is often useful where access behind the facade is limited.

Direct / Flush Mounting

Individual letters mount directly to the wall for a clean architectural appearance. This generally requires more individual attachment points and appropriate access for wiring.

Standoff Mounting

Creates additional space between the letters and wall, helping emphasize the rear halo. The wall and mounting system must be suitable for the required spacing and structural load.
