All signs should be handled with care.
Powder coated or clear coated metal signs are protected by a high-grade UV-resistant powder coat finish. Powder coating is durable but not indestructible. We recommend cleaning your item occasionally with a soft cloth, mild dish soap, and water. Never use any cleaner on your item that you would not use on your car, such as bleach or pressure washing solution. Additionally, any item that is displayed outdoors should be clear coated at least once every 2-3 years with a metal-grade clear coat to maintain the finish. Items displayed near saltwater environments will require more frequent cleanings and clear coats to protect against corrosion and rust. If your item becomes damaged in any way, you will need to immediately apply a clear coat to the sign to cover any exposed metal.
Steel Signs: Steel signs will begin to rust immediately if the coating is damaged. We recommend adding a clear yearly to prevent rusting from unseen damage. If your item does become damaged or if you go through extreme weather conditions such as hurricane, tornado, etc as a precaution it's recommended to add a clear coat. You can use any brand, spray-on rust proctor of your choice.
Aluminum Signs: Aluminum is the recommended material for exterior coastal use. Most items can be upgraded to aluminum for an additional charge. If you are interested in this upgrade please email us.
Our products that appear on HouseSensationsArt.com are warrantied to be free from material defects in workmanship, materials, and construction from the date of delivery for 1 year when used for normal indoor/outdoor use. In the event, that there is a defect a replacement will be sent at no charge as long as it falls within the warranty guidelines and exclusions do not apply. Photos will be required of the front & the back of the sign.
EXCLUSIONS: Our products are not warranted against normal wear & tear, accidents, abuse, neglect, or damage resulting from improper use, mounting, care, storage, or saltwater/salt air/ brackish exposure. Because many of our products are handcrafted & made with natural materials, variations in size, shape, & color can be expected.
* Lake/Marine/Saltwater use is not considered a normal outdoor environment. We do not warranty ANY product that has exposure to saltwater or brackish water. We recommend regular cleaning & the add-on clearcoat for any saltwater exposure.
AN ADDITIONAL MARINE-GRADE CLEAR COAT SEALANT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR SOME ITEMS UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS - All of our powder coats are good for normal indoor/ outdoor use, if your item will be in prolonged direct sunlight (example: beach or desert), or if you live within 75 miles of a saltwater environment, you will need an additional marine-grade clear coat sealant if this item will be outside. The clear coat will help at extending the life of the coating. Please note: Saltwater is a known corrosive and will require additional clear coats at least once a year to maintain the finish ( possibly more often in some cases).
For ALL STEEL SIGNS: If your item has been damaged a clear coat will need to be applied immediately to prevent rust and corrosion.
